1967 Uniflite 23' Express

This is a super clean, beautifully restored Uniflite 23 Express. The custom trailer that goes with the boat is painted blue to match the strip on the boat's hull, it looks fantastic. This is a great time capsule that has had a lot of love put back into it, and it's waiting for you!

This is a description, directly from the owner!

1967/2019 23' Uniflite Express I/O It was delivered to the first owner on 3-14-67 at Venture, Ca. It has spent most of its life in fresh water at Lake Powell, Ariz. After many years of service, the owner upgraded to a 32' Uniflite. The 23' went to his home in Fallbrook, Ca. thinking his kids would want the boat but they did not. After years inside his shop, the boat was moved to the Avocado grove where it sat.

I have owned a 1975 37' Uniflite for 32 years and still run charters in San Diego, Ca. I was given this boat but it took 2 hours with a chain saw to cut the trees away from the trailer to get it out of the grove.

I am only the second owner and because of my love for the San Juan Area, I wanted to restore the boat as if it would be my last boat. I gave it all the electronics needed to travel anywhere fresh or in salt water.

I wanted a Volvo to outdrive because of the reliability and ease of maintenance. This required a major rebuild of the transom because the back half of the engine and outdrive are all supported by the transom with a Volvo outdrive.

A boat yard in Oceanside, Ca. ( rebuilt the transom for $9,000.) They also rebuilt and installed the outdrive, filled every hole in the bottom, and installed the wiring, trim tabs, bilge pumps, auto pilot, gas tanks, and the new motor.

Exterior Paint is AWLGRIP 2 part expoy Matterhorn White/Navy Blue Trim Deck paint is Interlux nonskid Y JG009 Sand Beige.

The trailer was completely rebuilt with new everything. Just before traveling to SJI this year both axles were removed and checked. One was replaced with, a new bearing and 10-ply tires. Note: The trailer will not back up if the electric trailer plug is not hooked up to a truck.

The restoration was completed on 12- 2019. Covid hit and I was not able to come to SJI until May 2021. This year we spend 6 days cruising with the Killer Whales. So Cool.

I am selling the boat because my wife likes our bigger Uniflite and not traveling the highway looking for adventure.

A little history

The boat was found in an avocado grove, with a bee hive 4' long. Mice ate everything that was cloth. Raccoons destroyed all the hatches, and the rats called it home.

The owner spent 16 months restoring and improving this great-looking time capsule, come check it out!

The trailer

The owner just finished spending almost 3k on the trailer. The axels were removed and checked, and one was replaced, along with all new bearings and tires.
